Sri Lanka launches three‑day Dengue Eradication Drive across 14 districts

The Ministry of Health has launched a special three‑day programme to eradicate dengue mosquito breeding, scheduled for June 8, 9, and 10.

According to the National Dengue Control Unit, the campaign will be implemented in 74 health officer divisions across 14 districts from today. 

The campaign will be carried out across the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Puttalam, Kalmunai, and Batticaloa. 

The National Dengue Control Unit stressed that red notices will be issued against individuals maintaining environments conducive to mosquito breeding, with legal action to follow where necessary. (Newswire)
