Showers or thundershowers are likely at several locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, as well as in the Nuwara Eliya District after 1 p.m., the Department of Meteorology said.
Other parts of the island are likely to experience mainly dry conditions, it said.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few locations in sea areas off the coast from Colombo to Hambantota via Galle.
Winds are expected to be easterly or variable in direction, with speeds between 20 and 30 km/h.
Sea conditions around the island are expected to be slight. However, temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas may occur during thundershowers.
The public is advised to take precautions to minimize potential damage from localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers. (Newswire)
