Senior Professor Upul Subasinghe has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The appointment was made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Senior Prof. Subasinghe currently serves as the Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) and a Ph.D. from the University of Wales and is a Chartered Biologist (Sri Lanka).
The University said Senior Prof. Subasinghe is a distinguished academic and researcher whose leadership, vision and commitment to excellence have made significant contributions to the institution and to higher education in Sri Lanka.
The University also congratulated him on the appointment, expressing confidence that he would lead the institution into a new chapter of academic excellence, innovation and service to the nation. (Newswire)
