Heavy showers exceeding 75 mm are forecast in parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces, as well as Kurunegala, Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee and Mullaitivu districts on Monday (October 19).
The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers are expected across most parts of Sri Lanka after 1 p.m.
The public is advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
