The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds in the Central, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
Per the advisory, effective until 11.00 am tomorrow (03), the Met Department has issued red alerts to 14 districts and amber alerts to 09 districts.
The department warns that strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Central, Northern, Northcentral and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and the Trincomalee districts due to the active south-west monsoonal condition. (Newswire)
