The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has completed a Water Aerodrome Licensing Audit at the Castlereigh Reservoir, in accordance with the country’s new Water Aerodrome Regulations.
The audit is part of the formal process to designate Castlereigh Reservoir as an official water aerodrome, paving the way for regulated and safe float plane operations in Sri Lanka.
Authorities said this step is crucial for ensuring that water-based aviation services meet national safety standards, supporting the growth of the sector and enhancing connectivity across the country.
