Police said the 20‑year‑old, identified as Luna Tuugat, is a university student from Amsterdam, Netherlands.

She had arrived in Sri Lanka with fellow students and was studying at the University of Ruhuna under an affiliated programme. On April 6, she joined friends in climbing the Singimale mountain top for a research activity.
