A 32‑year‑old man from Pannipitiya has been taken into custody while transporting over 02 kilos of narcotics in a motor vehicle in the Hokandara area.
The arrest was carried out yesterday (30) by officers of the Special Task Force’s Special Operations Unit III, acting on intelligence received.
The raid took place in front of a fuel station within the Malabe Police Division.
Police said the suspect was found with more than 2 kilograms of drugs in his possession, along with Rs. 39,290 in cash.
The suspect remains in custody as further investigations continue into the case. (Newswire)
