Rajasthan Royals manager Romi Bhinder has come under scrutiny after allegedly using a mobile phone during their IPL 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Guwahati.

According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has issued a show-cause notice to Bhinder and sought a response within 48 hours over the incident.

The use of mobile phones in the dugout or Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA) is restricted under IPL anti-corruption protocols, with strict rules in place to prevent any unauthorised communication during matches.

Television footage reportedly showed Bhinder using a mobile phone during the Rajasthan Royals’ match against RCB, prompting the ACSU to initiate an investigation.

No official decision has been taken yet, and further action is expected after Bhinder submits his response to the notice.

The Rajasthan Royals franchise has also not issued an official statement on the matter so far. (Newswire)
