Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places across parts of Sri Lanka after 2.00 p.m. today (11 April), the Department of Meteorology said.
According to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m., showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern, Southern and Uva provinces.
Rain is also expected in the Anuradhapura, Mannar, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts during the afternoon or evening hours.
Meanwhile, mainly dry weather is expected to prevail over the other parts of the island.
The Department of Meteorology also noted that misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.
The public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
