
A former Secretary to the Ministry of Finance and former Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, Charitha Ratwatte, has been arrested by the Bribery Commission over financial misconduct.
Charitha Ratwatte served as a Senior Advisor during Ranil Wickremesinghe’s tenure as Prime Minister in 2015.
According to NewsFirst, the arrest comes in connection with a probe into the procurement of 50 temporary warehouses in 2015 in violation of standard procurement procedures.
It is reported that the temporary warehouse had been allegedly imported through the Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation at a cost exceeding Rs. 90 million. (Newswire)
