Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Ltd. has issued a special statement denying recent claims circulating on social media regarding the operations of its retail outlet in Nugegoda.
According to the company, the outlet was temporarily closed on Saturday, January 31, solely due to the sudden illness of a sales staff member.
It further clarified that the outlet remained closed on February 1 as it was a Poya holiday.
The company stressed that all other interpretations and reports regarding the closure are baseless, false, and misleading to the public.
The Nugegoda retail outlet is currently fully operational and serving customers as usual, the statement said. Operating hours are Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
