Sri Lanka batters Sonal Dinusha and Pasindu Sooriyabandara have made significant gains in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings following their impressive performances against India in Colombo.
Dinusha’s twin centuries in the second Test of the ICC World Test Championship series have propelled him to a career-best 25th position in the Test batting rankings.
The 25-year-old has made an impressive start to his Test career and currently averages 86.57 after his first five matches.
Meanwhile, Sooriyabandara has made one of the biggest moves in the latest rankings, climbing a remarkable 170 places to 74th position.
Playing only his second Test, Sooriyabandara scored 80 and 92 against India in Colombo, with the two innings providing a major boost to his ranking.
Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis has also returned to the top 10 in the Test batting rankings following his half-century in the second innings against India.
Among the Indian batters, Devdutt Padikkal moved five places to a career-best 54th after scoring 117 in the first innings, while Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten 115 lifted him from 83rd to 65th.
