The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) continued its downward trend for the fourth straight session today (18), with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) dropping by 210.51 points (1.22%) to close at 17,071.44. The S&P SL20 Index also fell by 57.43 points, closing at 5,094.31.
Total market turnover was recorded at Rs. 3.89 billion.
Local purchases stood at Rs. 3.32 billion, while local sales amounted to Rs. 3.37 billion. Foreign purchases were reported at Rs. 573 million, with foreign sales at Rs. 522 million.
With today’s losses, the ASPI has declined by over 590 points during the past four sessions, and the market capitalization has dropped by Rs. 202 billion—from Rs. 6,327.31 billion to Rs. 6,125.89 billion. (Newswire)
