Sri Lanka Customs has alerted the public to an online facility that allows individuals to verify the legality of imported vehicles before making a purchase. The measure aims to help prevent buyers from unknowingly purchasing vehicles brought into the country through illegal channels.
The Motor Vehicle Verification service is available via the official Customs website at: [https://services.customs.gov.lk/vehicles]
To use the system, users must enter the vehicle’s chassis number and their mobile phone number. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the number provided, allowing them to access information on whether the vehicle has been lawfully cleared by Customs or was brought in illegally. (Newswire)
