Nuwara Eliya records country’s lowest temperature at 7.8°C

Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology has reported that the minimum temperature for today (25) was recorded at 7.8°C in Nuwara Eliya, marking the lowest reading in the country.

According to official data, other cool temperatures were observed in the central highlands, including 14.0°C in Bandarawela, 17.5°C in Badulla, and 19.7°C in Katugastota. 

In contrast, coastal and northern districts experienced much warmer conditions, with Mullaitivu recording the highest minimum temperature at 27.4°C, followed by Colombo at 26.2°C and Galle at 25.9°C. (Newswire)
