Rishabh Pant is set to return to Delhi Capitals in one of the biggest player trades in IPL history, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav will move to Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2027 season. The trade was confirmed by IPL organisers on Tuesday.
Pant, who spent nine seasons with Delhi and captained the franchise for four years, rejoins the Capitals after a disappointing stint with Lucknow. The wicketkeeper-batter had joined LSG for a record US$3.21 million ahead of the 2025 season but stepped down as captain after the team finished last in the 2026 IPL standings.
As part of the deal, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav leaves Delhi after five seasons to join Lucknow. Pant is reported to return to Delhi on a revised contract, with Indian media describing the move as one of the most significant trades in IPL history.
The swap marks a major reshuffle for both franchises as they begin preparations for the next IPL campaign. (Newswire)
