Media statement from Deputy Minister Foreign Affairs: Arun Hemachanda
We are closely monitoring the recent developments between Israel and Iran. Given the heightened tensions, all Sri Lankans residing in or travelling to the region are strongly advised to remain vigilant and stay in regular contact with the nearest Sri Lankan mission.
All Sri Lankan Missions in the Middle East have been instructed to operate dedicated 24/7 emergency contact lines to support Sri Lankan nationals during this period. These contacts should be used strictly for urgent or emergency-related matters.
The safety and wellbeing of our citizens remain our utmost priority, and the Ministry will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure their protection and welfare.
