Sri Lanka A secured a dramatic Super Over victory over India A in the Tri-Nation A Series in Dambulla on Monday, but the match ended amid tense scenes involving players from both sides.

After scores were tied at 265 apiece at the end of the regulation 50 overs, Sri Lanka A prevailed in the Super Over to seal victory in a contest filled with drama and controversy.

The tension spilled over after the match, with India A youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi becoming involved in a heated exchange with Sri Lanka A player Vishen Halambage.

The exact cause of the confrontation was not immediately clear.

The incident capped a dramatic day that had already featured controversy over penalty runs, confusion regarding the Super Over procedures and a no-ball call during the tie-breaker that left India A captain Tilak Varma visibly frustrated.

Earlier, India A were bowled out for 265 in 49.2 overs after being put into bat, with Suryansh Shedge top-scoring with 72 and Vipraj Nigam adding 51.

Sri Lanka A matched the total thanks largely to a brilliant 93 from Sadeera Samarawickrama before finishing on 265 for 9 in their 50 overs.

In the Super Over, Sri Lanka A posted 16 runs before restricting India A to secure a thrilling victory under fading light in Dambulla.
