Colombo Kaps captain Kusal Mendis has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL) after suffering a hamstring injury.
Mendis sustained the injury during Colombo Kaps’ match against Kandy Royals on Sunday and was forced to retire hurt before leaving the field.
The wicketkeeper-batter will now miss the rest of the tournament, dealing a significant blow to Colombo’s campaign as they prepare for the remainder of the league stage.
Mendis had led the newly rebranded Colombo Kaps in the opening matches of the tournament and was expected to play a key role with both the bat and as captain. (Newswire)
