Virat Kohli’s former India U-19 teammate Amanpreet Singh dies at 36

Former India Under-19 cricketer and Punjab pacer Amanpreet Singh Gill has died at the age of 36 in Chandigarh, Indian media reported.

According to ESPNcricinfo, the cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Gill, a former team-mate of Virat Kohli at the Under-19 level, represented India Under-19 in youth ODIs and a three-day Test in 2007, touring England, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka during that period.

He also played six first-class matches for Punjab between 2006 and 2008, claiming 11 wickets, and was part of Kings XI Punjab during the inaugural IPL season.

Gill later served as a member of Punjab’s senior selection committee.
