Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva and a party delegation have held discussions with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santhosh during their ongoing visit to India.
The meeting was held on Monday (28) as part of the JVP delegation’s visit to India at the invitation of the BJP.
During the discussions, the JVP delegation was briefed on the history and organisational structure of the BJP, including how the party organises its membership down to the rural level.
The discussions also covered projects and programmes being implemented for India’s development and the leadership provided by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the JVP and BJP as part of efforts to further develop relations and friendship between Sri Lanka and India.
As part of the visit, the JVP delegation also held discussions with Rupkumari Chaudhary, National President of the BJP’s women’s organisation.
Separate discussions were also held with Vineet Vats Tyagi and Bhakti Sharma, representatives of the BJP’s youth organisation. (Newswire)
