Police have released more information regarding the shooting that occurred last evening (16) on Sumithrarama Road in the Kotahena Police Division.
Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle had opened fire at a man and a woman who were standing outside a residence, before fleeing the scene.
The victims, a 42-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman—both residents of Kotahena—sustained gunshot injuries and were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
Police confirmed that a pistol was used in the attack. However, the motive behind the shooting is yet to be established.
Kotahena Police are continuing investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects. (NewsWire)
