Jetwing Lighthouse, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic luxury resorts, has announced the appointment of Dmitri Cooray as Executive Director of The Lighthouse Hotel PLC, effective May 23, 2025.
This strategic appointment approved by the Nominations and Governance Committee and ratified by the Board of Directors marks a new chapter for the coastal landmark, strengthening its leadership with a visionary from the next generation of the Cooray family.
Dmitri Cooray, a dynamic and forward thinking hospitality professional, represents the third generation of the Cooray legacy a family that has shaped the Sri Lankan tourism landscape for decades. He holds a Bachelor of Business in International Hotel & Resort Management from the prestigious Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School in Sydney, Australia, and a Diploma in Hotel Management from SHATEC Institute, Singapore.
With global experience spanning leading hotels in Singapore and Australia, Dmitri joined the Jetwing Group in 2015 and quickly rose through the ranks. His previous roles include Manager – Operations and Deputy Managing Director, where he played a key role in driving operational excellence and strategic growth across the Jetwing portfolio.
In addition to his appointment, the company filing confirmed that as of May 23, 2025, Cooray holds 10,000 shares in The Lighthouse Hotel PLC underlining his long term commitment and vested interest in the company’s future.
Dmitri’s appointment signals a renewed focus on innovation, sustainability, and world-class guest experiences, reinforcing Jetwing Lighthouse’s position as a premier destination in the region.
