Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran will not launch further strikes on neighbouring countries unless attacks against Iran originate from their territory.
In a televised address broadcast on Saturday, Pezeshkian apologised to neighbouring states for the strikes carried out in recent days, saying Iran does not intend to escalate tensions with countries in the region.
He said the decision had been approved by Iran’s temporary governing council, signalling an effort by Tehran to ease tensions with neighbouring states amid the ongoing conflict.
However, Pezeshkian warned that Iran would respond if its territory came under attack from bases located in neighbouring countries. (Newswire)
