The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has announced that the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will proceed as scheduled on August 10, rejecting requests from various parties seeking a further postponement.

In a statement, the Ministry said the National Institute of Education’s Teacher’s Guides stipulate that 300 school days are required to adequately cover the Advanced Level curriculum.

The Ministry noted that students sitting the 2026 examination will have received 343 school days of instruction from the commencement of teaching activities until August 7, 2026.

It further pointed out that candidates appearing for the examination for the second or third time will have had a period of four months and 10 days between the release of the previous examination results and the upcoming examination date.

Accordingly, the Ministry said sufficient time has been provided for candidates to prepare for the examination and there is no necessity to revise or postpone the scheduled examination period.

The statement was issued by the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education. (Newswire)
