Schools in the Deniyaya Education Zone that were temporarily closed due to the spread of a fever illness will reopen tomorrow (13).
Southern Province Education Secretary Nishantha Pathirana said the decision was taken at a discussion held yesterday (11) under the leadership of the Governor of Southern Province.
Four schools in the zone were closed last Thursday after 56 students were reported to be affected by fever conditions.
Pathirana noted that a health‑protected environment has now been established in the affected schools.
He added that instructions have been issued to pay greater attention to the use of water to ensure safety. (Newswire)
