Minister of Public Security, Ananda Wijepala, says around 300 Police officers have been suspended since January to date, over various offences.
Minister Wijepala said that there is a significant increase in the suspension this year compared to 2024, which saw 200 Police officers being dismissed.
He further stated that some government employees, who have worked for over 25 years in state service, have lost their monthly pension payments, due to their involvement in various offences.
