The Colombo Municipal Council has decided to resume vehicle parking charges within the city from tomorrow (23).
Accordingly, parking management and fee collection will recommence from 6.00 a.m., as per a decision taken at the Finance Standing Committee, the Municipal Commissioner said.
Parking charges were temporarily suspended from the 18th due to heavy traffic congestion and long queues near fuel stations.
However, authorities noted that congestion has eased following the implementation of the QR code system and vehicle number-based fuel distribution.
As a result, the Colombo Municipal Council has decided to reinstate the usual parking fee system. (Newswire)
