Fuel quotas issued under the QR code system have been increased with effect from Saturday night, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said.

According to the revised allocation, the weekly fuel quota for cars has been increased from 15 litres to 25 litres, while three-wheelers will now receive 20 litres, up from 15 litres.

Vans will receive 50 litres, an increase from 40 litres, while lorries will continue to receive only 200 litres under the new revision.

Motorcycles will now be allocated 8 litres, up from 5 litres, and bus fuel quotas have been increased from 60 litres to 100 litres.

Fuel allocations for quad cycles have also been raised from 5 litres to 8 litres. Meanwhile, special purpose vehicles will continue to receive only 40 litres.

Land vehicles that previously received between 25 and 40 litres will now receive increased allocations within that range, the CPC said. (Newswire)
