The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued an updated landslide early warning valid from 4.00 pm today (05 Dec) to 4.00 pm tomorrow (06 Dec), placing several districts under heightened risk due to continuous heavy rainfall.
According to the advisory, areas in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and parts of Ratnapura and Kegalle districts have been issued Level 3 (Red) evacuation alerts.
Residents living on slopes, near cut slopes, and close to steep roads are advised to evacuate immediately to safer locations if rainfall continues. (Newswire)
