The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in the Uva and Eastern provinces and the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts today.
According to the advisory, amber alerts have been issued to 18 districts, and red alerts have been issued to 07 districts, effective until 11.00 pm.
The public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
