Former Sri Lanka cricketer Roshan Mahanama has stepped down from his role as a member of the National Sports Council (NSC) with immediate effect.
Mahanama was appointed to the Council for the 2025–2028 term by letter dated 14 February 2025 and formally accepted the position on 20 February 2025.
Announcing his resignation, Mahanama stated that he was reluctantly compelled to discontinue his role due to personal reasons.
A former ICC match referee, Mahanama had previously served on the Cricket Technical Advisory Committee in 2021. In 2022, he resigned from the committee, which had been appointed to guide the development of cricket in Sri Lanka, also citing personal reasons.
The four-member Technical Advisory Committee was appointed by then Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa on 5 February 2021. (Newswire)
