A Rs. 9 billion transaction involving a 28% stake in Commercial Credit and Finance PLC (COCR) has become the largest single trade executed on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in 2026, while also setting a record as the largest book-built transaction in the exchange’s history.

The shares, held by Singapore-based Group Lease Holdings, which is currently in liquidation, were sold to a consortium of investors in a transaction brokered by Asia Securities.

“The transaction represents the largest single trade on the CSE in 2026 and the largest book-built transaction on record,” Asia Securities said.

The stockbroker added that the deal comes amid recent market volatility driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and represents “a major injection of investor confidence and liquidity.”

The transaction is valued at approximately Rs. 9 billion and is regarded as a landmark institutional trade for the Colombo Stock Exchange.
