Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe visited Custom Denning in St Marys, Sydney, touring the company’s electric bus manufacturing facilities and observing its zero-emission transport technology.

During his visit, Abeysinghe toured both St Marys facilities, where he saw the Element 2 electric bus being built from the ground up. He also viewed a pantograph fast-charging demonstration and traveled on a completed electric bus.

Custom Denning Managing Director Scott Dunn and Chief Operating Officer Daniel Bale led the factory tour. Niro Bandara, the company’s financial controller, also joined the visit.

Abeysinghe was accompanied by Wishwanath Aponsu, deputy high commissioner of Sri Lanka.

Abeysinghe said the technology and manufacturing capacity he saw represented the type of advanced manufacturing Sri Lanka hopes to attract, including skilled engineering jobs, clean transport technology and export opportunities. (Newswire)
