
A bilateral discussion between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Brazilian President Lula da Silva was held this afternoon (19), according to the President’s Media Division.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the AI Impact 2026 Summit, currently being held in New Delhi.
In a message posted on X da Silva said “We discussed the economic scenarios of our countries, and noted that bilateral trade of 188 million dollars recorded in 2025 remains below the record of 210 million dollars reached in 2016. Our teams will build a comprehensive cooperation agenda, including the tourism, agriculture and trade sectors. I invited President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to visit Brazil on a date to be agreed upon in the future through our diplomatic channels” (Newswire)
