The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds and rough seas for the sea areas extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam.
Per the advisory, effective until 11.00 am tomorrow (14), the sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam will be rough at times with strong gusty winds up to 50-60 kmph.
The Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant and be attentive to future forecasts issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard. (Newswire)
