Four suspects have been arrested with 26.770 kilos of cannabis during a police raid in the Pahanakaduwa area of the Udawalawa Police Division.
According to the Police, the operation was carried out yesterday (28) by officers of the Embilipitiya Division Crime Investigation Unit, acting on a tip‑off.
The suspects are also believed to be connected to cattle theft incidents in the area.
Police said the arrested individuals are residents of Pallebedda and Thanamalwila, aged 26, 31, 37 and 46.
They were taken into custody and presented to the Udawalawa Police Station for further processing. The Udawalawa Police have launched further investigations into the case. (Newswire)
