The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has issued notices on 10 doctors who served on the medical panel examining former State Intelligence Service Director, retired Maj. Gen. Suresh Salley, ordering them to appear before court on Oct. 6.

Colombo Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued the notices after considering submissions made by the Criminal Investigation Department through a motion.

Salley, who was arrested in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks, is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital in Colombo.

It was recently revealed before the Fort Magistrate’s Court that Salley has an enlarged heart and that a device has been implanted to manage his condition.

The information regarding his health condition was contained in a report submitted by a medical panel that examined him.

The 10 doctors attached to the medical panel have now been ordered to appear before court on Oct. 6. (Newswire)
