The Court of Appeal has ordered that further consideration of the petition filed by former State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Sallay, challenging his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks, be postponed until 17 July.
When the petition was taken up today (14), President’s Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena presented additional submissions on behalf of Sallay.
After hearing the arguments, the Court directed that the matter be recalled on 17 July for continued proceedings. (Newswire)
