The Supreme Court has ordered former State Minister Premalal Jayasekera to appear before court on October 21 and imposed an overseas travel ban on him.
The order was issued following an appeal challenging the Court of Appeal decision that acquitted Jayasekera and two others.
Jayasekera and the two others had previously been sentenced to death by the Ratnapura High Court before being acquitted by the Court of Appeal following their appeals.
The Supreme Court proceedings stem from an appeal filed against that acquittal. (Newswire)
