US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have discussed the ongoing war involving Iran during a telephone call described by the Kremlin as “frank and constructive”.
According to the Kremlin, the two leaders focused on the conflict with Iran and the ongoing negotiations between Russia and the United States regarding the situation in Ukraine.
Putin’s diplomatic adviser Yuri Ushakov said the Russian president outlined several ideas aimed at achieving a quick political and diplomatic resolution to the Iranian conflict.
He said these proposals included contacts that have taken place with leaders of Gulf states, Iran’s president and other international leaders.
Ushakov also noted that the two presidents discussed developments in Venezuela in the context of global oil markets.
The conversation comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following the ongoing US-Israel military campaign against Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory attacks across the region. (Newswire)
