Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar will visit Australia from 21st to 30th March under the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (DFAT) Special Visits Program.
Balthazaar said the visit will include engagements with government counterparts, local authorities and policy institutions in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.
The programme is expected to focus on discussions and knowledge-sharing on urban governance, sustainable city development and the role of local government in strengthening national resilience, she said.
She expressed appreciation to the Australian government for the invitation and arrangements made for the visit, noting that the experience would contribute to strengthening local governance and development initiatives. (NewsWire)
