The prestigious Nations Trust Bank Golf Championship 2026 is set to return in grand style this May, with Nations Trust Bank introducing three shotgun starts for the first time in the tournament’s history, marking a major milestone in one of Sri Lanka’s most anticipated golfing events.

Held in partnership with the iconic Royal Colombo Golf Club, the championship will take place on 22 and 23 May 2026, bringing together more than 345 players across three competitive shotgun sessions.

The annual tournament has evolved into more than just a sporting event, serving as a premium networking and lifestyle platform that connects customers, partners and golf enthusiasts through a shared passion for the game. Participants this year will include customers from Nations Trust Bank’s Private Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking segments, alongside American Express Cardmembers and invited members of Sri Lanka’s golfing community.

Adding to the excitement, the 2026 edition will feature an impressive line up of luxury prizes and recognitions. Winners and runners-up will be awarded across multiple divisions, including Men’s, Ladies’, Masters and Seniors categories, while special awards will recognise standout performances such as the Longest Drive at the 8th Hole and Closest to the Pin at the 13th Hole.

In one of the tournament’s biggest highlights, golfers will have the opportunity to win a Hublot Big Bang Unico Titanium 42mm valued at Rs. 8 million through a Hole-in-One challenge. Meanwhile, the Overall Winner will receive an all-expenses-paid luxury golf getaway to the Maldives, including accommodation at a premier golf resort.

Commenting on the tournament, Sanjaya Senarath said the championship remains an important part of the Bank’s annual calendar, creating opportunities to engage customers in a more relaxed and memorable setting while celebrating the spirit of golf.

Meanwhile, Mahela Jayawardene, Captain of the Royal Colombo Golf Club, said the event continues to strengthen camaraderie within Sri Lanka’s golfing community while welcoming players from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for the sport.

The championship forms part of Nations Trust Bank’s broader long-term collaboration with the Royal Colombo Golf Club, with the partnership set to continue through 2028. The initiative reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting sporting excellence and creating meaningful lifestyle experiences that bring communities together.

With record participation, luxury rewards and a refreshed tournament format, the Nations Trust Bank Golf Championship 2026 is expected to deliver another memorable chapter in Sri Lanka’s sporting and corporate calendar.
