Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva, Eastern and Central provinces and in the Polonnaruwa and Mullaittivu districts after 2.00 pm today (29), while fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in the above areas.
According to the Department of Meteorology, a few showers may occur in the coastal areas of the Western Province and the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, showers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
