
A man who went missing while attempting to traverse the “Katusu Konda” ridge in the Hantana Mountain Range has been rescued safely following a special operation by the Sri Lanka Army.
Troops from the 2 (Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, under the 111 Infantry Brigade, were deployed for the rescue mission.
A team comprising two officers and eight soldiers commenced the rescue operation at around 6.40 p.m. yesterday (April 12).
Search efforts continued overnight under challenging conditions, including darkness and heavy mist.
The missing individual was located unharmed at around 7.45 a.m. on Monday (13) with army personnel successfully carrying out the operation. (Newswire)
