Sri Lanka Police have destroyed a large stock of narcotics seized during operations conducted between October 30, 2025 and August 12, 2026, Police Spokesman said.
According to Police, the seizures during the period included:
– 2,259 kg and 129 g of heroin
– 2,653 kg and 245 g of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as “Ice”
– 293 kg and 755 g of cocaine
Police said narcotics linked to cases in which legal proceedings have been completed were destroyed using the high-temperature incinerator located at the “Latto Watta” facility in Wanathavilluwa, Puttalam.
The destruction was carried out as part of the established procedure for disposing of seized narcotics following the conclusion of relevant court proceedings. (Newswire)
