The Road Development Authority (RDA) has urged motorists to exercise extra caution while travelling on expressways due to the prevailing heavy rainfall.
In a public advisory, the RDA requested drivers to pay close attention to warnings and instructions displayed on electronic display boards installed along expressways.
The authority also advised motorists to switch on vehicle headlights during travel as poor weather conditions could reduce visibility on roads, while drivers have further been instructed to maintain speeds below 60 kilometres per hour and ensure a safe distance between vehicles at all times.
The RDA warned that wet road conditions could increase the risk of vehicles skidding, particularly if brakes are applied suddenly.
Motorists were urged to drive with patience and remain mindful of prevailing weather conditions while using expressways. (Newswire)
