A man found in possession of 117 illegally collected turtle eggs during a special search operation carried out on January 28 in the Kalladichenai coastal area of Trincomalee has been taken into custody, the Navy said.
The suspect is a 57-year-old resident of the Thoppur area in Trincomalee.
The arrested individual and the seized turtle eggs have been handed over to the Serunuwara Wildlife Office for further legal action, the Navy said. (Newswire)
