Police have seized a large-scale cannabis cultivation site within the Udawalawe Reserve following a joint operation.
The raid was carried out on April 11 based on intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Army. Officers from the Hambegamuwa Police Station and Army officials led the operation.
During the raid, officers recovered approximately 155,000 cannabis plants, each about 3 feet tall, with an estimated street value of Rs. 4.5 million.
The cultivation, spanning around three acres, was taken into custody. (Newswire)
